The Soul of the World by Stéphanie

I wish to present you an author very important to me, Frederic Lenoir, is a philosopher, sociologist, religious historian and associate researcher at the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences. He produces a weekly program, “Les Racines du Ciel” on France Culture in France.

Author of fifty books, he also writes for theatre and television, essays, encyclopaedias, novels, translated works in about twenty languages.

I discovered him two years ago, I devoured his books … all books… In my classroom, I try to work and apply his ideas …




The Soul of the World (2012)


Seven sages (a Tibetan lama, an American Christian, an Indian mystic, an Israeli kabbalist, a Dutch philosopher, an African Sufi guru, a Mongolian shaman, and a Chinese Taoist master) from all over the world come together in Tibet to pass on to two young teenagers, Tenzin and Natina, the fundamental keys of universal wisdom. A sparkling initiatory fable that touches the heart as well as the intellect.



Frederic Lenoir presents us the parable of the elephant, with our different perceptions.

A king gathers 6 blind people from birth and says, "Do you know the elephants? " None of them have ever seen an elephant. The king asks them to touch the animal.
